Great results for K-Tech Suspension at Isle of Man TT
It was success all round for riders using K-Tech Suspension at this year’s action-packed Isle of Man races, the pinnacle of the road racing calendar, which attracts motorcycling competitors and fans from across the world.
Bad weather caused many of this year’s scheduled qualifying sessions to be postponed until the end of the first week. Yet, despite the limited opportunity to practice, many riders enjoyed some great successes throughout race week.
Sunday saw the first official race of the TT, in the form of the rescheduled RST Superbike race. This exhilarating opening event saw K-Tech rider Ian Hutchinson (Tyco BMW S1000RR) take his first win of this year’s TT, beating Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW S1000RR) and Dean Harrison (Silicone Racing (Kawasaki ZX10-R) to the top spot with 50% of the top 10 finishers on K-Tech products, including four of the top five finishers using KTR front forks and DDS Pro shock absorbers.
Further adding to the success James Hillier, JG Speedfit Kawasaki and Peter Hickman Trooper Beer, Triumph rode their way to podium places in the Monster Energy Supersport Race 1, coming second and third respectively using K-Tech DDS front fork cartridges and DDS Pro shock absorbers. The second Supersport race was unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather.
Ian Hutchinson continued his success by dominating the RL360 Quantum Superstock race, which followed on Wednesday, securing himself the top step of the podium and his 16th TT win, where Manxman Dan Kneen, DTR/ Powered by Penz 13 BMW S1000RR also triumphed, securing his deput TT podium in third place and setting his best ever lap of the mountain course. Both riders were using K-Tech DDS front fork cartridges and DDS Pro shocks along with seven of the top ten finishers.
In the Bennetts Lightweight race Martin Jessopp riding the Riders Motorcycles Kawasaki Z650 joined Peter Hickman KMR/EIG Racing Kawasaki on the podium, finishing second and third respectively, with Daniel Cooper, Michael Dunlop and James Cowton, also finishing in the top 10 using K-Tech DDS front fork cartridges and DDS Pro shock absorbers.
The highly anticipated Pokerstars Senior TT race was restarted over four laps, after the original race was red flagged, due to an incident involving Ian Hutchinson at the 27th milestone. Dean Harrison claimed his second podium of the TT finishing third and achieving his first 132mph lap. Riders using K-Tech products held a strong presence in the Senior TT result sheets with over half finishing in the top 20 places.
Speaking after the Isle of Man TT, Ken Summerton, Technical Director at K-Tech Suspension said, “The Isle of Man TT is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the quality and performance of our racing products and it is terrific to see so many riders on K-Tech Suspension take to the podium.
